Public urged to share views and help shape the future of art courses in Uist

UHI North, West and Hebrides is inviting members of the local community to share their views and help shape the future of its art and design offer in Uist.

As part of a programme of activities to review and develop the art and design offer delivered by the college from Taigh Chearsabhagh Arts Centre, the college is hosting two workshops for members of the public to attend and share ideas.

The college is committed to working with its staff, students and partners to develop a sustainable learning offer, which meets the needs of the local community.

The two public workshops will follow an event involving local stakeholders who have been working with UHI North, West and Hebrides to help shape the future of the curriculum in Uist.

Please note that due to ferry timetable changes by Cal Mac and feedback from the local community we will now be hosting these workshops on the 2nd of November at 10am. Information on timings will be available soon. Please email kathryn.lamontsmith@uhi.ac.uk to book an available place.

Hannah Ritchie-Muir, Vice Principal Academic at UHI North, West and Hebrides, said: “We have received lots of useful feedback from the local community about our art and design offer in Uist. We want to build on that and use the local expertise and knowledge to help develop our curriculum in a sustainable way, whilst meeting the needs of the local community. Our public workshops are open to anyone and we welcome people to come along and help us shape the future of our offer in Uist.”
