BA (Hons) Applied Music
I have a great interest in music. Remote working was great because I find it easier to work from my home location. The practical element was attractive to me, and it is tailored to what I do – I can study what I want to.
I’m really happy with the support. The lecturers are friendly and welcoming and get back to me really quickly with any answers to questions.
I really enjoyed it. As a part-time student, I feel like I’ve got to grips with the course and I’m looking to go full-time. It’s amazing!
- What are your favourite things about the university? The students on the course are great and always up for collaborating. The tutors are helpful and kind. The course material is extensive but is very relevant and will help me in the future. The residencies are amazing – the social aspect, you can meet all the people you are working with remotely, and the activities are great.

What career direction would you like to take after studying? I want to continue with music. I’m interested in creative digital media in general and want to work in the creative industries, broadly. I’ve got more contacts and knowledge about the work I want to do, and the course will open up further opportunities. My performance practice tutor is a prominent artist in electronic music, and I’ve made contacts through him. The networking opportunities have been really valuable and will help me in the future.
