Whether you’re just beginning your career journey or looking to upskill, reskill or change careers entirely, we’ve a full range of further education and higher education programmes to choose from – ranging from access level to PhD, including leisure and short courses. Our courses suit more people, at more levels, for more reasons, with options for learning, life, and work.

How our courses are delivered:
On campus, face to face
On campus, face to face
You will learn on campus through timetabled classes with your lecturer. Your learning could take place in a workshop, studio, classroom, specialist facility or an outdoor location. You’ll use our virtual learning environment to access resources and complete assessments.
Online virtual classroom
Online virtual classroom
You will learn online through timetabled classes delivered by a lecturer in a virtual classroom in Microsoft Teams. You’ll use our virtual learning environment to access resources, complete assessments, and chat to your lecturer and classmates. These courses may include some face-to-face activity, for example, exam attendance, and this will be clearly outlined in the study mode description on the course page
Online self-directed
Online self-directed
You will learn online through our virtual learning environment. Study is self-directed and you choose when to do your work. You’ll use our virtual learning environment to access resources complete assessments, and chat to your lecturer or classmates. Most ‘online, self directed’ courses will include some optional, timetabled sessions delivered by a lecturer in a virtual classroom, in Microsoft Teams, which are recorded.
Work-based
Work-based
You need to be employed to access our work-based programmes – this may be as an apprentice, an employee or a volunteer. Depending on the qualification, you’ll either study on campus, be assessed in the workplace by our assessors, or study online, self-directed or through timetabled classes in a virtual classroom.
Blended, on campus and online
Blended, on campus and online
You will learn through a blend of on campus, face to face learning (this could include regular classes or residential type activities) and online, timetabled classes in a virtual classroom in Microsoft Teams. You’ll also use our virtual learning environment to access resources and complete assessments.
Our campuses and centres
Our campuses and centres
We have 19 campuses and centres across the North, West and Hebrides of Scotland where you are supported by our friendly and knowledgeable staff. Here, you have the opportunity to mix with other students and use our well-equipped study space. You may be able to study some or all of your course from home to fit in with your personal commitments.
If you choose to study from home, then a suitable study space and a learning environment with adequate broadband connectivity for studying online and for video interaction will be needed.
