About...

Interested in improving your IT skills? 

This course will provide you with up-to-date knowledge and skills in a range of popular IT software. You will improve skills in key fundamental areas such as word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, helping you prepare for further study, and/or employment. 

The PC Passport programme of study will give you the knowledge and understanding of using Microsoft software packages (word, excel, access and powerpoint) with confidence.

This course is available to study online (with a tutor being allocated to you for support), using our virtual learning environment (VLE) called Brightspace. Learning materials will be provided through Brightspace. You will work through the learning materials and complete tasks as requested by your lecturer. During induction you will learn how to use the VLE, which is an integral part of the course delivery. Weekly engagement with the learning materials is mandatory; students should allow at least 2 hours per week for this. 

Please note, you must have access to a laptop or computer for this course.

Entry requirements

No formal entry requirement; entry is at the discretion of the Centre.  You should be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of having used at least two of the above software application packages.
