A wide range of topic areas including:

  • Horse identification and handling a quiet horse safely
  • Assist with grooming a quiet horse
  • Tack and tacking up
  • Stable routine
  • Horse health
  • Watering and feeding
  • Tacking up for ridden competition work
  • Horse care: lunging
  • Horse care: trimming, turnout and clipping

Where you can go... 

On completion, opportunities to progress include NC Horse Care, HNC Equestrian Studies or BA (Hons) Equine Business Management, full time at UHI North Highland's Rural Studies Centre or by flexi study. These are dependent on your experience and qualifications gained.
