Research Interests

My current area of research is focused on the development of the Virtual residency and online collaboration ‘Project Senegal: African Digital Academy’. My interests are around:

  • Blended learning pedagogies
  • Development of networked communities of practice
  • Online music collaboration and virtual residencies
  • Traditional music performance and composition
  • Music and wellbeing

  • 2005: Fiddler with Mike Scott of The Waterboys for International Festival of Peace, Queen’s Hall Edinburgh. 
  • January 2005: Violinist in ‘Paracas - Rhapsody of the Gael’, by Fred Morrison. A commission for traditional ensemble, Scottish Opera Orchestra and Chorus symphony orchestra, solo voice and narrators.  
  • 2005: Fiddle Tutor: Swannanoa Gathering, North Carolina.  Delivered lectures on ‘The Music of Ronald Stevenson, Scottish Composer’and ‘The Life and music of Martyn Bennett’. 
  • 2003 International tours with folk trio Fine Fridayincluding 3-month tour of Australia.  Festival appearances included The National Festival, Port Fairy Festival.
