Mechanical Manufacturing (CNC Machining) SCQF Level 6 (Modern Apprenticeship) SVQ

What is special about this course?

Many engineering employers in our region are involved in manufacturing and maintaining systems and equipment. These employment opportunities are increasing as the Renewable Energy industries expand at a fast rate.  These industries continue to recruit people with Mechanical Manufacturing skills and qualifications along with the correct personal attributes.  This course will help you develop and achieve all of these, and more.

This Modern Apprenticeship initiative offers people the chance to work towards achieving an SVQ in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering (CNC Machining) at SCQF Level 6. The programme is a combination of work-based and college training and provides the dual benefit of students gaining a nationally recognised qualification while being paid as they work.

This Modern Apprenticeship consists of an SVQ, Core Skills and Enhancements.

Apprentice Benefits;

  • Debt free learning
  • Nationally recognised qualifications
  • Career progression opportunities

Employer Benefits:

  • Cost effective training supported by funding from Skills Development Scotland (up to 100% funding depending on age and eligibility criteria)
  • Develop up to date and relevant skills and qualifications

Entry requirements

Candidates should be employed within an engineering setting.

Potential MA Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering (CNC Machining) candidates should hold qualifications in:

  • Three national 4 qualifications including Maths, English and a technical/science subject

or

  • Relevant post school education and training
