I would like to become an electrical engineer and this course provides a great foundation. As an apprentice with Dounreay, my company has enrolled me in the course, as they recognise my ambition and support my goals.

The facilities are great, and the staff are caring, which makes me engage more. During the start of my week, we do a range of practical activities, which include mechanical, electrical and electronic work. I finish my week by attending a series of theoretical classes, which bring correlation to the practical work completed earlier in the week.  I also enjoy the social environment of studying at the college. Overall, the college gives me confidence in my ability as a student and a future engineer.

I am currently an apprentice, who looks forward to furthering my education with UHI. The skills and knowledge gained will allow me to become a better engineer for the future, helping my company develop innovative solutions to tackle the difficulties in our ever-changing world.
