Green Engineers for the Future (Thurso)

What is special about this course?

This 5 day training programme aims to provide learners with the foundational theory of green engineering and sustainability in the form of the ‘12 principles of green engineering’.

The course will continue into practical sessions to give a basic introduction into green energies such as wind and solar then into engineering maintenance and control. Learning how basic and more advanced maintenance fits into the green principles and why it is important in an effort to drive sustainability and green practices in engineering.

The aim to get to net zero by 2045 requires innovation and technology to get there. This will need engineers and technicians to understand and work towards creating and maintaining greener products, processes and systems.
Getting to net zero does not mean all new technologies and green skills but ‘Greening’ of traditional skills and processes. The Green Engineers for the Future course will give learners a foundation which they can apply in their current or future career to help see unsustainable practices and put green and sustainable concepts into practice.
