Emergency First Aid at Work (1-day)
What is special about this course?
Emergency First Aid at Work is a 1-day training course that is designed to provide first aiders with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively to emergency situations in the workplace.
Entry requirements
Suitable for learners aged 16 and over. This course involves practical, hands-on training, and participants should be physically able to kneel, twist, bend over simulated casualties, sit on the floor, and perform CPR.
Understand the role of a first-aider, including: the importance of preventing cross-infection, the need to record incidents and actions, and the principles of safe and prompt response in emergencies.
Assess the situation and act safely, promptly, and effectively in an emergency.
Administer first aid to a casualty who is:
- Unconscious, including those experiencing a seizure
- In need of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Choking
- Wounded and bleeding
- Suffering from shock
Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries, including small cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns and scalds, and small splinters.
Additional training can also be given for those involved in forestry to include the +F content.
